I paint to capture ‘stills’ and to find stillness within me…
Painting has become to me, in the last ten years, a place to be on my own.
My time, my space, my calm, my tonic.
—
When I paint, I quickly
fall into a flow state
—
I allow the paint and the palette knives to do the talking.
I work quickly and intuitively, often straight from walking and my paintings are a reaction to the day, the place, the weather and how I am feeling.
Painting takes me away from the humdrum, bringing me joy and happiness.
I hope my paintings capture the essence of me, too as well as the landscape I frequent here in Cornwall, often alone, quiet and meditative.
